Learn how sponsors have changed the story of Dhanyavathi, a recent graduate of college and of our Rajah Children’s Home.
We’ve known Dhanyavathi for nine years. She came to us small and tired from working in the fields. But even then, she had a joy and eagerness to learn that none of us could ignore.
Now, Dhanyavathi is a woman—kind, intelligent, and determined to share her joy with others. The kids at our Rajah Children’s Home (RCH) in South Asia think of her as their sister and role model. They are proud of her recent accomplishment. And so are we. She describes it in the letter she wrote to her sponsors below.
“I have successfully completed my college studies with First Grade marks (the same as A’s in the U.S.)! I am very much thankful to God and you, the sponsors who have helped me. Thank you for your prayers and support. There are many poor children who, like me years ago, want to study but are stuck in child labor. You, CRI, and the pastor who told my mom to bring me to Rajah Children’s Home, made my dreams come true.
These days, my mother is very sick because of the hard work she has done alone all through the years. But because of my education, I got a job at a private firm as a junior lab technician. Now, I can look after her well.
Thank you once again. I pray for you every day. And I will keep praying for you, your family, and your work. I will pray for CRI as well—that they can help more receive an education from childhood through RCH. May God bless you.

The food, education, and support Dhanyavathi received at RCH have empowered her to leave deep poverty behind. Because of her sponsors’ commitment, #sheshines the light of Christ in South Asia. She knows she is loved by God and worthy of a life well-lived. One day, she would like to become a nurse. She will bring joy to her patients, much like her sponsors have to her.
