A Pastor’s Sponsorships Advocate Story
Every CRI relationship starts somewhere. For Murray and Carol VanDyke, it started with a friend.
“We heard about CRI through Scott Horrell, a friend of ours. He encouraged us to go to India to meet the G Brothers, CRI missionaries, and find ways to support their work. But I'm not a traveler, and my wife and I both felt it would be wiser to help in other ways.
Our friend told us about the pastors they disciple. These men serve their congregations but have to work other jobs to provide for their families. CRI steps in to provide them with an income for the pastoral work they're already doing. They know the culture, the language, and are equipped to serve their people well.
We're so blessed in this country. We have more than enough while these pastors struggle to make a living. We decided to start sponsoring, and what started as a simple yes now feels like obedience–like part of our ministry.
Someday, we won't be here anymore. But as long as we are, as long as we're able, we're going to keep partnering with these pastors. Because of the updates we receive, we know their names and faces. And we can't wait to meet them on the other side.”
