A Rajah Children’s Home Advocate Story

Every CRI relationship starts somewhere. For Brandon and Bethan, it started with a trip.

“When I visited the ministry in India, we studied photos of the students at Rajah Children’s Home (RCH) on the flight over, learning their names before we met them. Within days, despite language barriers, we were playing games, laughing together, and building real relationships.

It was incredible to see the environment RCH provides for these kids who would otherwise be surrounded by Hinduism, abuse, and poverty. Here, they are taught their true value in Christ—one that is not dened by the caste system or the circumstances they were born into.

While we were there, a young man came to help with the kids. I learned that he was a graduate of RCH who finished his education and has a good job. Now, he comes back to help with the kids at the home. Before our very eyes, we were seeing how God was working through difficult circumstances to bring about new creation! It was such a clear example of the impact this work has and made us want to stay involved.

Coming home, we invited our kids into the story by sponsoring Mahima, a child in the program. Mahima and our daughter both struggle with nightmares. Because of the time difference, as one of them goes to sleep, the other is waking up. It’s allowed us to encourage our daughter to cover Mahima in prayer. When we pray for our own kids, the kids we sponsor are right there with them. They're a part of our family, and we pray that the Lord uses them to bring redemptive transformation to their families.”
