Rev. Kule Joram
Reverend Kule Joram was just nine years old when he was abducted by the ADF rebel group during a violent raid on his mountain village. For nearly five months, he endured life alongside his captors in the Rwenzori Mountains—facing hardship, violence, and the constant threat of death. His miraculous escape and reunion with his wounded family shaped the rest of his life.
Today, Rev. Kule serves as an Anglican priest in the Diocese of South Rwenzori, where he leads the Amaha Ministry—Amaha meaning “hope” in his local language. Drawing from his own story of survival, Rev. Kule works to rescue and restore hope for the most vulnerable: teen girls facing early marriage and the loss of their future.
In Kasese District, where poverty and tradition often drive families to marry off daughters to survive, Amaha helps keep girls in school and out of forced marriages. In partnership with CRI, the ministry supports girls to attend private boarding school and university while helping them grow in faith and life skills.
Rev. Kule is married to Nyangoma Lazeri, a preschool teacher, and they have two young children: Aviel and Aviela. Together, they share a vision for restoring hope through Christ and equipping a new generation of Ugandan girls with dignity, faith, and opportunity.
