Yazan & Caterina Fakhoury

Jordan

Yazan was born in Amman, Jordan. By God’s grace, he was raised in a Christian family, part of a small minority in Jordan, which is 97% Muslim. Yazan spent the first eight years of his adult life as a civil engineer, but towards the end of this time he felt a growing call to ministry. With much prayer, Yazan and his wife, Caterina, made the decision to leave a comfortable career to obey God’s call. Yazan attended seminary in Beirut, where the seminary president saw that God had a larger call on Yazan’s life and encouraged him to pursue a ThM at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). While at DTS, Yazan met CRI shortly before graduating and returning to Jordan in 2020. Yazan serves as a pastor in his home church in Amman, oversees theological students as an academic dean and professor in two seminaries, and partners with local relief organizations to help needy families--often refugees-- in and around Amman. Through our Tessa Grace Nutrition ministry, Yazan and Caterina help care for refugee babies, toddlers, and their mothers.

Yazan and Caterina’s vision is to teach teachers, coach leaders, mentor and disciple believers, and reach marginalized people with the light of Christ. They have two sons, Basel and Andrew.
