A Nsanganiza Care Center Advocate Story

Every CRI relationship starts somewhere. For Abigail, it started with a trip.

“I felt the Lord say, You have been equipped to serve. I will find a place for you to do that.

I joined a team going to Malawi, and I remember feeling so humbled by their greeting because we had come to encourage them, yet we found ourselves in the middle of a celebration.

Nsanganiza is a secluded mountain village. The locals shared that they often feel alone and forgotten, but when people come to minister with them, they are reminded of Christ’s love.

We helped serve lunch to the students at the Care Center. It was a simple bowl of food, like I would eat for lunch, but these little kids were so excited.

While traveling home, I handed over a $20 as I grabbed coffee at the airport. I realized that this casual purchase would be a luxury for the children we had served. When I learned that sponsoring was as simple as foregoing a treat each month, it felt like a way to steward what the Lord has given me. My small "no" could become countless "yeses" for a child—yes to school, to food, and to the reminder that Christ cares for them.

As I shared about the trip, I was reminded how important it is to tell stories that help ignite compassion for “the least of these.” We can’t change hearts or spur people to act, but we serve a God who can. Sometimes people just need to see the need and be invited into what He is already doing.”

Be an advocate like Abigail! We are thankful for those who support these children. To see them fully supported, we need 10 more sponsors at $25 a month. Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring the Nsanganiza Care Center?
