Our nutrition programs provide nourishment to those who need it most—some of our world’s poorest women and children.
Without schooling, those living in deep poverty do not know their dietary needs. Undernourished women deliver underweight children. And these children never overcome their early disadvantage. Of those under five, 195 million suffer from stunting (UNICEF). Most struggle to go to school on one meal a day, let alone perform well. With empty stomachs, HIV-positive children cannot digest their medication. They, and children with disabilities, lag even farther behind. Without help, they do not hope for a better future. Many die before adulthood.
