ChildCare Liberia
Monrovia, Liberia

The project is headquartered in this capital city, with branches in the neighboring towns of Gbarnga and Ganta. It’s focus is on street kids, most of which were left behind from Liberia’s decades long civil war. Our partner at this project is Jackson Torkolon, a part time pastor. He describes his vision this way:
For over five years I have worked with many tears and prayers for the children of Liberia. So many are destitute, unschooled, uncared for and without hope. I am a man who believes in vision and hard work for Christ and know the importance of hope in a child’s life. I began praying to God, what shall I do to help? I decided to take an offering in our church to feed the hungry kids who came to our doors. That was the beginning of our ministry that now has four goals.
- To help our country’s street kids to stay in school.
- To teach them about Christ and know that God wants them to have a future.
- To train leaders for children’s ministries.
- To build our own Christian school.
While it is day, come let us work and do ministry together (Luke 10:29-35).
