Why Sponsor a Child?
Children in Mozambique, Kenya and India live with the kind of stubborn poverty that binds them to a life of disease, hunger and fear.
This vicious cycle has bound their parents and will, in turn, bind the children unless it is broke with sustainable aid combined with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Child sponsorships are an effective way of reaching and helping children who live in stubborn poverty. By becoming a sponsor, you have an opportunity to directly touch a child’s life, not only changing it for the better but also giving the child the chance to know the God who loves them.
Children’s Relief International has three sponsorship programs: El Shaddai in Mozambique, Mayatima in Kenya, and Rajah Children’s Home in southern India. Each provides an aid package that is unique to the location but all with the same goal: to provide a better life for the children and a chance for them to learn about Jesus Christ.

Mozambique
El Shaddai Child Sponsorships (formerly called the Ray of Light School and Feeding Program) is a pre-K / elementary grade program. Your sponsorship guarantees your child a place in the El Shaddai Christian School system up through grade 4. As the school grows, our dream is to have these children sponsored from pre-K through grade 12. What better way to change a village for Christ than through the children.
Kenya
Mayatima Project Child Sponsorships offer direct aid to the children. Because some parent(s) have died of AIDS, many of the children are cared for by an elderly grandparent or a foster parent. Each household receives monthly food staples. Home visits and health checks occur on a regular basis. The children who live within walking distance are enrolled in our Cornell Christian Academy. Those who live further out in Kikuyu County receive assistance in order to attend public school. When a child is fed, when a child is learning, when a child understands the Jesus who loves them, then this child has a chance for a better future.
India
Rajah Children’s Home Sponsorships cares for boys and girls who are from the Dalit, untouchable caste. They are orphans or come from one parent homes (usually widows) who cannot care for them. RCH provides these children with a loving home environment with house parents, beds, three meals a day and required attendance in a Christian private school. Our hope for these children is that they will be able to succeed in life and feel secure in Christ. They may always be Dalits, but they will also belong in the family of the one true God.
