Tessa Grace Nutrition

Our Tessa Grace Nutrition Center exists to save lives of malnourished and under developed babies (0-2 years old) in the Sofala region of Mozambique.

In Africa approximately 1 out of 4 babies die before they reach the age of 5. Malnutrition is one of the leading causes. The staff at our Tessa Grace Nutrition Center are working to change that statistic in the communities of Dondo and Mafarinha.

The vast majority of women in our program are HIV+. By providing formula for their babies we hope to prevent the spread of this disease to their children. We also help orphans, who are cared for by a grandmother or sibling, and mothers with twins (20 sets of twins are currently enrolled).

Our medically trained staff monitor these babies weekly. We provide help in the form of milk, miracle mix (a nutrition supplement), health checks, consultations, and preventative care sessions. We share Christ with the mothers through prayer and devotionals. Success means graduating healthy babies from our program as quickly as possible and teaching their mothers how to keep them healthy. All of our baby graduates undergo a thorough examination by a medical doctor before being released from the program.

We currently serve 80+ mothers and babies. Because of the overwhelming need to reach more babies we ask for your help in one of three ways:

Join our baby sponsorship program: For just $40 per month you can save lives—literally. To sponsor the program visit our Sponsorships page. Go to Other Ways to Give. Choose Tessa Grace Nutrition.

Host a Fundraiser: Join our Coins for Kids initiative or choose from several pre-packaged fundraisers.
