Christian Schools

We operate Christian schools in Mozambique and Kenya where God’s Word is in the center of our children’s self-understanding, thereby cutting off and rooting out bad values, false beliefs and harmful worldviews.

Our curriculum includes an hour of Bible class with songs, stories and prayer. Children who are sick are given medical attention. All receive a hot lunch before returning home. For some, this will be their only meal of substance for the day.

Our schools in Mozambique comprise about 600 children up through the 4th grade. Our goal is to add two grades each year, reaching a total of 12 grades and 1,500 students by the year 2015. It is an ambitious goal but as our partners have said, it is only through children with a Christian education that Mozambique will become what God intends it to be.

We believe a Christian school is the only way to change the behaviors in our community that lead to AIDS, the only way to fully evangelize our people and bring lasting change. El Shaddai will set a higher standard of education in our community and the pressure will build for them to follow suit!” — Jeronimo & Noemia Cessito

The Cornell Christian Academy in Kenya, operates with the motto, exalt to excel. The Academy has classrooms for grades K through 8 with an attendance of 110. 1/3rd of the students are orphans, and many of these have the HIV virus. George Karanga, our Mayatima Project partner and director of the Academy, believes that knowledge alone is not enough. It must be wrapped in an understanding of the God who created it.
