Children’s Relief International

How We Help

In the early 90s Alan & Melody Pieratt moved to Brazil as missionaries with CBInternational and took over a ministry to street kids in the center of Sao Paulo. These children were without home or family or friend.

They stole for food and bathed in public fountains. They were hated by the local merchants and tormented by the police. To carry out such a difficult ministry, they successfully partnered with several local Brazilians who had a heart for the kids. It was here that CRI first developed its two-fold approach to missions: 1) We focus on the poor. 2) We carry out our work in partnership with native leaders who are part of their communities we serve. Today Children’s Relief International takes Christ to the poor through eleven different ministries:

Direct Aid

The essentials— clothes, food, medicine, compassion. We deliver Direct Aid to those in need on an ongoing basis.

Children’s Homes

The Rajah Children's Home, a school and boarding house run by two brothers, brings education and relief to children of the Dalit, or "untouchable", caste.

Christian Schools

Our school's in Mozambique and Kenya currently serve over 700 children and are growing each year.

Medical Aid and Nutrition

Almost 2000 patients a month pass through our clinic to receive services and care they would not otherwise be able to afford.

Microloans

Our small loans enable women in India and Mozambique to feed their families and ultimately break out of the cycle of poverty they've been born into.

Green Door Construction

Every summer we bring in teams of volunteers to help build block houses for those in need. The result is a dream come true for many.

Agriculture

Our farm of crops, cattle and chickens helps employ local workers and provides food for children in our child sponsorship program.

Church Plants

As they foster a spirit of community and compassion in their local areas, our church plants become the root from which all other projects grow.

Hunger Alleviation

An empty belly yields a closed heart. Our food pantry programs help alleviate the hunger pains of our communities on a regular basis.

Project Life

Project Life was created to help AIDS widows and their children, families whose lives are dominated by the disease and the deep poverty that accompanies it.

Clean Water

The most basic of human needs remains elusive to many families in our communities. Your continued donations allow us to dig deep-water wells as needed.
